Encounters poor children with practical, neighbourly love
The global hunger crisis terrifies us. The numbers facing extreme hunger are staggering. If you stood 45 million people shoulder to shoulder the line would stretch nearly 13,000 miles (~20,500 kilometers) – from London to Paris and back, 43 times, or 3.5 round-trips from New York to Paris. The number of starving would fill more than 52,000 A380 SuperJumbos – the world’s largest passenger aircraft. Right now, four times more people are enduring catastrophic conditions of starvation compared to just 15 months ago. The situation is worsening in many hunger hotspots around the globe.
Millions of children are at risk of death unless immediate action is taken to address the global hunger crisis, warn six of the world’s largest NGOs working on behalf of children.
